MAGIN BLANCO "ROCANROL DRAGON"
This is my first post in Galician. The main aim of this blog is to offer interesting resources in English but I include this one because it contains a wonderful selection of beautiful English songs and it can also help you increase your self-esteem. Everyone of us can feel identified with "The Rocanrol Dragon". I am sure you will love to sing this song.
Thanks to Magín Blanco for his great work.

ROSALÍA DE CASTRO
THEY SAY THAT PLANTS DO NOT SPEAK
They say that the plants do not speak, not the brooks, nor the birds,
Nor the waves with their roar, not with their brilliance the stars,
So they say: but one cannot be sure, for always when I go by,
They whisper about me and say
“Ah, there goes the madwoman, dreaming,
Of the everlasting springtide of life and the fields,
And yet soon, very son, her hair will be grey,
And trembling, frozen, she sees that the frost is upon the grass
-There are gray hairs in my head, there is frost on the lawns,
But I press on dreaming, poor, incurable somnambulist,
With the eternal spring of life that goes
And the perennial freshness of the fields and souls,
Although some were scorched and although others scorch.
Stars and fountains and flowers, will not murmur of my dreams,
Without them, neither can one admire - nor can one live without them.

Some years ago I used to read this book at Primary School to work on friendship and to show hilariously how Modern Art started a long time ago. It is really lovely.
PLANTING A RAINBOW
I have just got a big edition of this wonderful book. Children enjoyed so much while they learnt about planting, flowers and colours.

THE STARRY NIGHT
The Starry Starry Night may be a kind of picture story book. It is easy to read but the meaning behind it is deep. I’m not exactly sure that children can understand it but the drawings are colorful and beautiful. Jimmy Liao uses black or grey for sad moments and then brighter colors for happy and hopeful times.

IT IS SNOWING
It is snowing, it is snowing
All around, all around
Soft and quiet snowflakes,
Soft and quiet snowflakes,
Not a sound, not a sound
All around, all around
Soft and quiet snowflakes,
Soft and quiet snowflakes,
Not a sound, not a sound
I AM A FRIENDLY SNOWMAN
Sung to: "I'm a little teapot"
I'm a friendly snowman big and fat.
(stretch arms out to sides)
Here is my tummy and here is my hat.
(point to tummy, then top of head)
I'm a happy fellow, here's my nose.
(smile, then point to nose)
I'm all snow from my head to my toes.
(point to head, then to toes)
I have two bright eyes so I can see.
(point to eyes)
All the snow falling down on me.
(flutter fingers downward)
When the weather's cold I'm strong and tall.
(stand up all)
But when it's warm I get very small.
(crouch down low)
I'm a friendly snowman big and fat.
(stretch arms out to sides)
Here is my tummy and here is my hat.
(point to tummy, then top of head)
I'm a happy fellow, here's my nose.
(smile, then point to nose)
I'm all snow from my head to my toes.
(point to head, then to toes)
I have two bright eyes so I can see.
(point to eyes)
All the snow falling down on me.
(flutter fingers downward)
When the weather's cold I'm strong and tall.
(stand up all)
But when it's warm I get very small.
(crouch down low)
